A Gentle Approach to Horsemanship

Great clinician, fun people, wonderful location, lovely B&B and lots of pearls for me and Abby to play with. Just got back from indoor 4 days later and even remembered most of what was put forth to me. Libby breaks everything down so it makes sense and why. Lots of bad habits to let go of but it will come.

Libby Lyman is a wonderful teacher. She is patient in her explanations and adjusts her lessons to the level of the person and horse she is working with at that moment. I have watched her praise small changes in a new pupil, and push an experienced horse and rider to reach beyond their current level of expertise. She does it all with a sense of humor and creates a warm and friendly environment in her clinics, encouraging questions and dialog. Because she has a background in traditional english riding, she understands the years of experience and training many of us are seeking to evolve into this new way of being with our horses, and the struggles which sometimes come with "letting go" of old ways of thinking. During our lessons, Libby encourages me to reach deeper into myself and my horses, helping me break through barriers I have not even realized were there, while at the same time keeping me in a space where I feel safe stretching my skills physically, mentally, and emotionally. I am very grateful to have her as a teacher and a friend.
